Well, somehow it’s November already!
It feels like only yesterday we were enjoying the summer sunshine here in Brixham, and now the darker evenings are drawing in, the temperatures are dropping and Christmas is just around the corner.
It’s been a little while since our last catch-up, but there’s certainly been plenty happening at Porridge. Our shelves have been filling up with interesting new products, we’ve been discovering some lovely things for the colder months, and Christmas preparations have been keeping us rather busy!
So, whether you’re one of our lovely regulars, haven’t visited for a while or have recently discovered us online, here’s a little look at what’s been happening.
Good Food & New Discoveries
One of the things we love most about running Porridge is finding products that are a little different from the usual supermarket offerings. And with so many brilliant independent producers and brands out there, there’s always something new for us to discover too!
As we head into the colder months, we’ve been making room for plenty of delicious food and everyday essentials.
From organic ingredients for homemade soups and hearty dinners to interesting cooking sauces, herbs, spices and delicious treats, there’s lots to explore in our pantry and wholefoods range.
We’ve also got a wonderful selection of teas, coffees and other drinks, perfect for those increasingly chilly afternoons.
And, of course, it’s not all about food! You’ll find plenty of natural wellbeing products, eco-friendly household essentials and thoughtful gifts throughout the shop.
If you haven’t popped in for a little while, it’s well worth having a browse. You never know what you might find!
A Few Things That Have Caught Our Eye
With so many products arriving throughout the year, we thought we’d share a handful of things worth taking a closer look at.
Something delicious: We’ve had some lovely handmade treats arrive recently, including Teoni’s White Chocolate & Raspberry Shortbread Biscuits. Just the sort of thing to enjoy with an afternoon cup of tea!
Something a little different: For a fun gift or an unusual sweet treat, the Candyhouse Espresso Martini Sweets are certainly worth a look. They’re part of a lovely collection of cocktail-inspired sweets that make great little presents.
Something special: We couldn’t resist mentioning the beautiful Fiasconaro Italian panettone that have recently arrived. From traditional hand-wrapped cakes to their stunning Dolce & Gabbana gift tins, they’re rather special and make wonderful gifts.
And these are just a few examples! There’s always something new to discover both in the shop and online.
Christmas Has Arrived at Porridge! 🎄
Now, we know it’s only November, but Christmas has definitely arrived at Porridge!
We’ve been planning and choosing our festive range for months, so it’s been lovely seeing everything finally arrive and take its place on the shelves.
This year, we’ve put together a wonderful selection of Christmas food, treats and gifts, with plenty of old favourites alongside some exciting new additions.
There’s something for all sorts of tastes and budgets, including:
- Festive food and treats: Beautiful Italian panettone, indulgent chocolates, traditional Christmas puddings, biscuits and plenty of other delicious things.
- Christmas dinner and entertaining: Nut roasts, stuffing, chutneys, sauces, speciality nuts and savoury nibbles for the festive table.
- Thoughtful gifts: From luxury food gifts and beautifully presented chocolates to natural beauty, home fragrance, children’s gifts and little stocking fillers.
- Vegan and gluten-free favourites: A wide selection of festive foods and treats for those with particular dietary requirements.
We’re especially pleased with the range we’ve managed to bring together this year, with lots of products from independent producers alongside some of our favourite brands.
Most of our Christmas collection is now available to shop both in store and online, and some favourites are already selling quickly. We’ve even had a few items sell out, so if there’s something you’ve had your eye on, we’d recommend getting it sooner rather than later!
We’ll be sharing plenty more of our festive favourites, gift ideas and Christmas inspiration over the coming weeks, but you’re very welcome to get a head start.
