Porridge is a health food shop, café and online store based in the heart of Brixham, Devon. We’re a small, family-run business offering carefully chosen products for everyday living, with a focus on quality, sustainability and friendly service.
Whether you’re picking up your essentials, browsing for something new or calling in for a coffee and a chat, we aim to make shopping feel simple, helpful and welcoming. However you choose to shop with us, we want you to feel at home.
How it Started
From Postal Pantry to Porridge
Our journey began in 2020 with Postal Pantry, a local delivery and mail order service launched to help people access essential groceries during the first national lockdown. What started as a practical solution quickly grew into a trusted source for wholefoods, eco-friendly products and sustainable swaps.
In 2022, we opened our first physical shop and café in Brixham. We took over Oats Healthy Living Store after the previous owners retired, continuing their legacy while shaping something of our own. That’s how Porridge came to life – a place that brings together nourishing food, independent values and thoughtful service.
What We Do Today
A Community-Focused Shop with an Online Reach
Today, Porridge brings together the best of both worlds – an in-person shopping experience at our Brixham store, and the convenience of browsing online from anywhere in the UK. From wholefoods and natural supplements to wellbeing products, gifts and eco-conscious essentials, our focus is on offering useful, good-quality products that support healthy, low-waste living.
